HELP! After The War

Let me tell you how I see PTSD and recovery...

Bob and I are available to come and talk to groups about PTSD and recovery.

I have given talks about PTSD for more than a decade, from the Today Show in 1990 on my book tour, a Native American gathering in Montana, and spiritual retreats by the National Conference of Vietnam Veteran Ministers, to in-service trainings for VA professionals and seminars at VA's and veterans' reunions for vets and their families.

For veterans and their families,
Home from War: It's not all sweetness and light, explanation of some of the problems and some solutions
Recovering from the War: What PTSD is, how that affects your family, and how to recover
The War at Home: Each PTSD symptom, what it does for the vet, what it does to the vet, and how the family might feel about it
Living with PTSD: Are we really fine if they are driving us nuts? Is it normal to be affected?
Continuing to Recover: When you recycle old symptoms, persistence, awareness, acceptance and research are required.
For professionals:
Helping Families Become Part of the Solution: instead of part of the problem because of misunderstanding, personalizing and ignorance.
Living with PTSD: the difficulties when you think it is your fault and he/she agrees
PTSD and Substance Abuse: efforts to avoid thoughts or feelings associated with the trauma often start with drugs and alcohol. Other addictions. The Big Book and The DSM.
For everyone: The Realities of PTSD: the multiple realities: biological, historical, the separate reality of trauma, the reality of actually having PTSD, the real difficulty of getting good help, the reality for families, the reality of denial, the reality for society.

The cost is $500 per day plus expenses.
I am willing to do more than one workshop a day.
If I am hired by a VA, Vet Center, or Military Facility to do a training for professionals, I will throw in a free talk for veterans and their families.

Bob gives a workshop on writing about war experiences for those who are interested in doing so.
